ACED Lab students present research at the Gerontological Society
Kaity Pechanek (right) and Caitlin Williams (left), two undergraduate students in the ACED lab, presented thier research at the Gerontological Society conference this November. Thier poster, "Age Differences in Emotion Recognition of Briefly Presented Faces", presented the results of two studies about emotion recognition differences between older and younger people. The results found that aging was associated with increased difficulty recognizing the emotional expressions of anger, sadness, and fear, but better recognition of disgust.
Kaity and Caitlin are both currently working on Senior Honors Theses with Dr. Emery, and hope to continue presenting their research at conferences in the future!
